I am an Out of State Freshman at UW - AMA

Thought I may be able to help out anyone who has any questions about the application process, how I like UW, greek life, dorm life, or anything else.

I live in Maple (brand new dorms in west campus) and am in a fraternity as a spring pledge (which basically means I get to stay in the dorms until spring and then have to move into the house).

I got awarded $3,000 a year from the purple and gold scholarship which doesn’t do much for the huge out of state tuition (~$34k).

When you were applying, did you apply for honors?

Why did you choose Maple dorm over the other ones?

As an OOS, how easy/hard was it to find new friends? Were there cliques existent already? (Especially with “Seattle-freeze” supposedly being a thing)
