The college i want to apply to requires different transfer GPAs, depending on your major( i am sure most colleges do). It says that the minimum transfer GPA is generally a 3.0. However, i went into the website to find more specifics and i believe that the major i want only requires a 2.7, which would probably greatly help my admission, seeing as my current GPA is a 3.1.

Right now i want to go into political science. At the university's website it says the following GPA's are required for transfer, for each major.

Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS)
Chemical Engineering: 3.2
Math and Computer Science, Statistics and Computer Science, Psychology: 3.0
Teacher Education Programs: 3.1
All other programs: 2.7

1.What i can't tell is, would political science be under "All Other Programs" in Liberal Arts and sciences?
2.If that is correct, would having a 3.1 GPA be really good, when a 2.7 is required?

If Political Science is not under Liberal Arts and Sciences, then here are the other catagories.

Agricultural Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES)
Dietetics: 3.0
All other programs: 2.5

Applied Life Studies (ALS)
2.5 - 3.0

Institute of Aviation (AVI)
2.7

Business (BUS)
3.0 - 4.0 (middle 50% is between 3.3 and 3.6)

Communications (COMM)
3.0

Education (EDU)
3.1

Engineering (ENG)
Mechanical Engineering: 3.2
Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, General Engineering: 3.0
All other programs: 2.8

Fine and Applied Arts (FAA)
Architectural Studies: 3.2
Art and Design, Art Education, Art History, and Music Education: 3.0
Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning: 2.75
All other programs: 2.25
