Well, im currently a graphic design major at csun. Im interested in fashion & want to design clothes. I was postive when i started college tht graphic design is my passion & im not so sure now. It doesnt rly interest me. I took 2 graphic design cls in high school, but i wasnt tht good at it. I mean its fun designing images on computer, but not as a career. I know becoming a fashion designer is much tougher. I have rly creative ideas tho. Going into the fashion is diffcult.

Since graphic design is not designing images on the computer, I’d say you were misled.

If your heart is in fashion, it will never be difficult as you put it. It will be challenging and fun.

I only know a few fashion designers;however, from what I have seen, the good ones have a real passion for it. They love fashion. They love their courses. Their everyday lives are lived with fashion in mind as they dress, shop, etc. They consume all fashion ideas. If this is your passion, go for it. If not, seek another major.

RainingAgain: But isnt graphic design is where you design logos, movie covers, posters, etc??

Graphic design has traditionally been related to print and especially 2D work. Their work primarily dealt with book covers, design for CDs.,poster design and some ad design and logos. However, as of late, most graphic design programs have incorporated web design work as well, which is why University of Cincinnati ( where my daughter is attending) will be merging their digital design program with their graphic design program into a Visual Communication program.

Ohh I see…
