For not applying to Santa Cruz. I've already been rejected from Davis and Santa Barbara (also waitlisted from my top choice, Wisconsin). Now down to just UCI, Washington, and Maryland. I don't want to check UCI online cause if I get one more rejection I might just break something. At least if I just ripped a rejection letter to shreds it wouldn't cause any damage.

I know its not the greatest school or you might not want to go there but apply to riverside or merced. I got rejected from ucd ucsb and ucsd and thought i would get rejected from irvine so i applied to riverside just in case. it will give you some kind of back up

yup i hella regret i didnt apply to sc. oh well

I heard Santa Cruz was pretty hard this year too. On their official admissions site, their averages were : GPA: 3.70 and SAT: 1770

Don't worry, all UC applicants are offered either UC Riverside or UC Merced if they're rejected from all their schools.

UCSC had averages of 3.66 and 1760 last year, so this year was slightly harder due to getting 14% more applications.

im_blue, I think that only applies to California applicants who were in the top 12.5% of the class I believe or at least eligible to attend the UC to begin with. Who knows, maybe TC might've not been eligible to begin with.

Bottom line is.. It's getting harder and harder to get into a UC or even any college!!

Amen to that.

im_blue where did you get the 14% more applicants statistic?
