Is your GPA, your unweighted GPA or UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Have you taken the PSAT? Scores?

Not sure about your HS, but very few AP classes are offered in the summer. Also, if you have never taken any AP classes before, jumping into 3-5 could have drastic negative impact on your GPA if you are not ready for the workload.

Medical school admissions are based on a High GPA/High MCAT score and medically related EC’s. I would not worry about Medical school until you get into a college for undergrad.

There is no guarantee you will be accepted into any particular medical school based on where you attend for undergrad. Focus on doing well in school, take a rigorous HS schedule, prep for the SAT/ACT.

Here is the 2016 Freshman profile for UCSD. Aim for above the 50th percentile in stats for a decent chance.
Admit rate — Overall 35.9%:
Admits:30,264
Applicants:84,222
California Residents (% of admits):62.1%
GPA and test scores of middle 25%-75% students
High School UC GPA: 4.00 - 4.27
ACT Composite Score: 28 - 33
SAT Critical Reading :590 - 720
SAT Mathematics: 630 - 770
Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? It really depends on that and your ACT/SAT scores. It is also important to note if the school superscores or not (it most likely does not for the ACT), so you would have to get a 26 or above with a decent GPA to have a good chance at getting in. UCSD also requires ACT Plus Writing, so don’t forget about that.
UC’s do not superscore.
