I am freaking out here because I have not taken any SAT Subject Tests yet- I was going to take them in January. But I just found out that I have something to do on that day and I definitely will NOT be able to take them... And there are no more subject tests until May, which is obviously too late.

The only school that I applied to that recommends SAT Subject Tests is Emory University.. My GPA, rank, and SAT are not that great. (3.4, 25%, 1350)

Am I completely screwed? Emory doesn't actually require them but they are recommended, which pretty much means the same thing.

I don't know what to do ... :( I know GPA, SAT, and rank are more important, but SAT 2s can help a lot.

what do you HAVE to do, unless its surgery, you can get out of it

and if this is something that JUST came up...YOU need to set your life priorities here....and if you HAVE to miss a test that you kind of need to take, you better be SURE that what you opt to do instead is worth it and required

not taking the SAT II's won't hurt you since it's optional; it just won't help you. but, like citygirlsmom said, you'd better have a good reason for skipping the SAT...

Trust me, I know my priorities. Obviously, I wouldn't be freaking out if I didn't it. This is something that I cannot NOT go to. No, it's not like a Hannah Montana concert or anything like that. It's actually serious. The point is that I won't be able to take the SATs.

But do most people who apply to Emory, etc send in SAT 2s? Probably, right?

I took SAT IIs on an alternate testing day last year. There was a major math competition scheduled for that day and it can be arranged for alternate testing if you meet one of a few conditions.
