I did bad in high school

I confused myself when I first posted.. I mean the New SAT 1's sorry. I said SAT II's since they were the new ones and I just got confused.. and if you read my above post I stated that this was a projected average of the 8-9 practice tests I took over a period of 4 months. I never told my actual SAT 1 scores because I didn't want you guys to base my stats off those.. they were not that good, only a 1320 I believe.

Regardless of the flip-flopping, you could not have taken the new sat I's. Period. In your original post you say nothing about "projected average" or "practice tests" at all. Do you even see the major flaw in your statement? Why would a graduating senior (1) be practicing for the new sat and (2) project scores of the new sat when it has nothing to do with their college admissions. No one can give any helpful advice to you if you don't give any legitimate information.

Sorry about coming down on you, but I can't fathom why anyone would lie on a forum about their stats and ask for any help or advice when they are posting their information anonymously. No one knows who you are and no one is going to hunt you down and judge you based on your test scores, so if you truly wanted some advice/help there's no point in posting fibs.

I never said the projections in the original post because I didn't think people would nitpick about it, and I didn't think it mattered. I'm prepping for the new SAT's because these are not the only schools I am applying to, I have other ones, and if my new SAT's> my old ones, then I will send those in instead of the old ones. The schools I posted here are the ones closest to home, and the ones most suitable for me. The others are all across the country, and therefore, I found them less important. Also, some colleges actually require the new sats.. the ones I am applying for atleast. Regardless of wether or not you believe my validity, I have already gained plenty of useful information about 1) my chances, and 2) the fields I may major in. I haven't graduated yet, I'm in my third quarter. I had help from my counselors to estimate my final GPA, and my class rank may be off a few, I think this was the right number. I already had everything else, and the 4.7 GPA. Everything else is valid.

No school requires current seniors (you posted your senior gpa and grades- unless you meant those as junior scores and every other grades were meant to have been bumped down a spot with your freshmen scores supposedly from the 8th grade) to take the new sats- in fact collegeboard only lists it as official for the class of 2006. The advice you received are meaningless because they were given on baseless material.

"The SAT II's are what I took. It counts as 800 math, 800 verbal, 800 writing, for a grand total of 2400. I got a 1980, which means 650 math, 700 verbal, and 630 writing. I knew Stanford was a major reach but hey, you never know If I went to a state school, would I be accepted into the honors program possibly? Also, I haven't taken the official test, I've just taken around 8-9 practice tests over a period of 4 months and I have gotten a projected 1950-2000, and it averaged out to 1980."

But I thought that SAT II's were counted as separate scores for each test?

"OMG lol did I say SAT II's? I mean the newer version of the SAT I got a 1980. And also, I made a typo on my ACT, I got a 30, not a 31."

How is that possible if the new SAT isn't out yet?

From collegeboard:
"The SAT is changing in March 2005, but students shouldn't worry. The College Board will help them prepare with information, sample tests and free and low-cost preparation materials."

i wonder when northstarmom, carolyn, jaimom, etc. will answer this thread. maybe they can figure this out.

Bluealien: There's nothing to figure out. The OP figmented some hypothetical situation for who knows why and asked for help based on fibs. The purpose? There is no purpose other than to get nonhelpful advice that doesn't correlate to anything. The end.

OP, are you a senior or a junior? If you're a senior, number 1 you can't take the new sat because its too late I think for apps. Your old sat is the only thing thats going to count.

I guess you truly did bad in high school, if you're a type of student who has nothing better to do then post some BS.

bluealien, I wouldn't worry too much about the OP. The only thing that rings true about the posts is that the person responsible for them is unhappy. (Nobody-I repeat, nobody requires the New SAT this year much less any of schools named by the OP. Go to their sites and check.)

You are a fine student. Sounds like some goofy angst, or you broke up with you girlfriend. Get out of the funk. You will get into at least two of the schools you applied to, maybe not the campus disired but you are there. Relax. Do something fun for YOU if it means sketching a tree or watching tv.Get a hobby and a better perspective. You are fine, you are there. If you can't cope with this, how are you going to survive to 25?
