buck up...you are young and bright. Don't let this skewed website freak you out. Find match colleges and start school somewhere next fall and enjoy learning and enjoy a social life. Many great people in every town got a slower start...you know the adage...never a good idea to "peak in high school".. Even community colleges these days are very sophisticated places and often offer entry to more selective schools after one or two years of good grades. Do not get sidetracked. Haven't you seen the PET scans of teen brains at 18 and later in their early 20s..you are no where near your peak for learning. Stay with a peer group of kids who are in college classes, even if you work some of the time. Study up on the job markets of tomorrow..go to your community college GC and get the Meyers Briggs test and get to know your temperament and strengths. Set goals every year..you don't have to know where you are heading yet...no one does. Really. Just begin at your best match schools and befriend the kids who seem positive and hardworking. Intelligence comes in many forms and the SAT is not by any means a measure of your future success. Even if it was your scores are solid. If you think you are eligible for partial financial aide, keep in mind that some liberal arts colleges actually cost the same as publics can and they sometimes do a better job of teaching in smaller classes. Don't dwell on being off track when you were 15 and 16. You are at a new door..just open it. You have lots more mojo to bring to the challenge than you give yourself credit for...good luck! Enjoy being your age and stay away from negative thinkers.

Well I already know that I'm better than a community college.. its just that I don't know if I will get accepted into my main school, Purdue, even without the admission to chemical engineering.. that's my problem

Don't discount community college as being below you. I have friends at many top schools, graduate and otherwise, who went to community college for a while. It's a good option if you can handle the lack of discipline.

No trust me I know what you mean, but I am definately not going to community college. I can handle the workload, I'm just worried that I won't get accepted at any of my colleges, in the chemical engineering program.

Actually, your list is not bad but you need a school that is a very likely admit. The University of Minnesota at Duluth has a very highly ranked chemical engineering program - I am not sure what admissions to the engineering programs are like, but average HS GPA overall was around 3.3.

You haven't failed at life - it just took you a little longer to realize that good grades might be a good idea.

A lot of schools will exclude your freshman year when refiguring your gpa. Just mention your hardwork and dedication to improve your grades in a personal statement and your golden at all of your choices.

Probably one of the dumbest and ditziest girls at my school recently got into purdue this year. i am sure you will too, an ddon't be so negative, you have pretty good scores

you shoud be able to get into purdue easily...my uncle is a professor at purdue and says that the school of engineering takes in A LOT more students that any other engineering school would take since engineering at purdue is really hard and my uncle said that around half of the students usually drop out after the first year....with your SAT score u probably have like a 95 percent chacne to get in (my borhter got in with a 1790)

Assuming you're from Ohio, then I'd say you have a very good chance at all of the schools. Colleges like an upward trend in gpa. And the CC's and JC's suck in Ohio. I know, I'm from there :).
