I did bad in high school

I have disgraced my family :( I feel so bad because the last thing my grandfather said to me before he died was that I should be the #1 student in the nation.. lol not gonna happen! I tried as best I could to do good my last two years, and I have shown significant improvement, but I highly doubt I have a chance at even the worst ivy schools. My parents are very unhappy with my performance :( Help me out please..

I've applied to:
Washington University
Stanford
Mizzou
Kansas University
Illinois University

I HIGHLY doubt I will get accepted into any of these.. help me out please

They're all super reaches.

Better luck next time

A state university=reach for me also?

umm....I think something's up with your SAT score....

The state universities should be fine, though Wash U may be a reach. The in state ones should be a breeze.

MzLover, I think he took the new SATs.

To be honest with you, Stanford is going to be a major reach unless you have some extremely outstanding EC or something. The chances are a bit slim, although there still is a chance :).

How could a senior take an SAT that hasn't even been administered yet.....

Hmmm... I thought they were administered this year. He may have gotten them back, I don't know heh.

They aren't administered until March of this year.

im guessing typo..hey sorry but why did u apply to stanford...??? Im sorry but i doubt that you will ever get in..im not being mean (srryy)but is'nt it better to be a little realistic ? stan. is hard for genius valedictorians with WOW Ecs maybe if you had worked harder then you would have had a shot....anyways good luck- with good recs and touching essays...who knows? o and whats mizzou

Maybe he combined his math, verbal, with an SAT II writing

ACT is really good, good enough for U of I, unfortunately there is your class rank which they really look at. I'm sure your in at U of I just not right away. Maybe by March or something. My friend was is an Aero only had a 29 and a similar rank and he got in right the day of his graduation. He of course was the college of engineering. I am a chemical engineer and got into LAS so I think I know what you would need. If you have any questions about the U of I chemical engineering program just ask.

"SAT I: 1980"

You can get a 1980 on the SAT??

not sure about the others, good luck to ya, but Standford is a big, big reach.

The SAT II's are what I took. It counts as 800 math, 800 verbal, 800 writing, for a grand total of 2400. I got a 1980, which means 650 math, 700 verbal, and 630 writing. I knew Stanford was a major reach but hey, you never know :) If I went to a state school, would I be accepted into the honors program possibly? Also, I haven't taken the official test, I've just taken around 8-9 practice tests over a period of 4 months and I have gotten a projected 1950-2000, and it averaged out to 1980.

Your SATII scores are very good! I think they can partly make up for your high school record...what does everyone else think? Are they good enough to balance it out?

No, they make it worse because they imply laziness, sorry. :-/

(Unless there's some extra personal circumstances he's not telling us.)

Ummm you ACT is high enough to get you James Scholar if you stick with Chem E. But your grades and GPA aren't so unless you improve your ACT by a couple points or explain you grades on your personal statement, no way. I would say definitely honors in Ag tho but you aren't going for that.

OMG lol did I say SAT II's? I mean the newer version of the SAT I got a 1980. And also, I made a typo on my ACT, I got a 30, not a 31.

That will actually make a difference. Don't hold your breathe too long for honors. Maybe, maybe James Scholars but probably not.

You flip-flop on your "SAT I" or "SAT II" or "New SAT I" score, and end up concluding what you stated to begin with. As a senior, its impossible to have taken the new SAT, which isn't even official until the class of 2006 and isn't officially administered until March (you're a current senior with a reported new SAT score that you placed on your college apps??...right...). I question the whole validity of your entire post. You remain anonymous in this forum so what incentive would you have to lie if you truly wanted someone to give you any feedback?
