I’m an animal science major, and I couldn’t get into ANS1 even though the advisors said that freshman should take the class fall quarter. Now, I’m stuck with taking CHEM2A, MATH16A, and JPN1 (Elementary Japanese). I didn’t want to take MATH16A and CHEM2A in the same quarter, but there were no classes open, not even ENL3! I’m going to waitlist for ANS1, and hopefully I’ll get in…

So, really, how hard is CHEM2A and MATH16A? I have Prof. Andreas I. Toupadakis for CHEM2A. How is he?? How are his tests and lectures? I don’t know what teacher I have for Math yet. And how is the Japanese class?

taking che2a and mat16/17a fall quarter freshman year is pretty standard for most science majors, just fyi. toup should be okay; my roommate freshman year got an A but he was like, one of two people who did.

I had toupadakis for 2 quarters. One piece of advice I’ll give you with him is that he’ll talk about life at times, but he is one of the better professors. You can’t go wrong with him. Math 16A shouldn’t be bad at all. As a matter of fact, almost all students take Che 2 series + math series freshman year.

Uh, you still got some prereqs so you shouldn’t complain at all. People are much worse off than you with classes they probably don’t need or even want for their major.

16A is watered down, its easy. 2A isn’t bad if you’re not lazy, Toupadakis is alright, although a bit boring. Prepare to learn about the life curve. All the elementary language classes are relatively easy too. Chill, your schedule is pretty dam good for fall.

At least you got into chem 2a…I thought for sure that I would get it. However, the people in my orientation group decided to come completely unprepared and I ended up missing out on the last spots by a couple of minutes. If I could I would trade you for that chemistry spot because I’m getting pretty desperate right now.
