My first semester of college, I did very well I had a 3.5 GPA A’s and B’s in all my classes, and the next semester I failed one class with a D and lost my scholarship. Now I am currently at a community college and my GPA is at a 1.7 the fall semester I did ok then I failed the next semester and after that I did good but this semester I failed again. My grades are inconsistent one semester I do good and the next I fail. I know what the problem is and this semester I dont plan on failing. But I’m worried about how this will look when I’m applying to other colleges. Is it possible for me to still get into a good college? What should I do?
What can you do? Do the best you can this semester, retake the D classes if allow and retake the F. Often schools will still show the letter grades on the transcript but not include them in the gpa, so your transfer gpa will be a lot higher than your current 1.7. When you apply, explain the bad grades and basically say “See, I can do the work. Look at my A grades.”
You have bigger issues than getting into another college. You need to pull it together and show you can do college work. You need to figure out why you are doing so poorly and address those issues.
