I flunked my first SAT's?

I'm currently a junior, and over the summer I worked REALLY hard for the SAT's, until I met a boy durign the last week of summer...but that's besides the point. I started getting high 600s for the reading, 700s for math, and 780's for reading. I thought I'd really do well from all the hard work! On my PSAT's, I got a 202, which is a huge improvement from my 161 from last year.

But I just received my SAT score from the December 1 test, and I got a 1890. I'm so disappointed!! What can explain this horrible score? I have a 3.85 gpa!

It’s fine! Honestly. Just sign up for the January test date (if you think you will be sufficiently ready by then) and also sign up for the ACT, if you haven’t taken it already. I took the ACT once and did well, then took the SATs in December and got a much lower score. Maybe the SAT isn’t right for you?

Nevertheless, 1890 is a really good baseline score, and you will be able to bring it up to a 2000ish pretty easily. Work hard and good luck!
