So as a good member of this society, I went with some other people to a "highway cleanup" project.
And on that bright Saturday morning while we were cleaning up all the garbage people like to throw out their cars because they're lazy . . . I walked over to a new spot and found a whole lot of opened needle packs, with a bunch of used ones just thrown on the ground, almost in a pile.

My chemistry teacher was with us and told me that someone must be pulling over in the middle of night, injecting drugs, and throwing the needles on the ground, then speeding off.

We're not allowed to pick up stuff like that though, so we had to leave it.

drug abusers :(

which makes me bring up a curious question . . . is your area/school full of druggies? we have a serious problem with athletes on steroids, and especially users hooked on oxycotin. time magazine has an article on our small county concerned with the amount of drugs used. some kids bring coca cola bottles with the drugs dissolved . . . they're that addicted :(

Yeah, we have a serious meth problem here. The hradware store sold out of drain cleaner one day because this one emaciated guy kept on coming back and buying more. We get labs busted on a regular basis.

I just watched Walk the Line, and it's terrible how Johnny Cash is addicted to that point . . . it almost killed him so many times . . and the thing is, nothing's being done to stop it you know? I mean you can only get yourself in the ER with doctors telling you over and over to stop so many times before you just kill yourself.

Even though it's not attractive, obesity beats drug abusers . . both can kill you, but you need to pack a lot of pounds before your body completely breaks down, and most people recognize that before it's too late

a few too many pills in an hour and bam, you're gone.

I have lots of needles at my house. But my daddy's diabetic.

I believe the drug problem here is larger than I'm aware of. I have a good group of friends, and I'm naive to the world around me. "Small" town, so yeah...

I don't know how much of a widespread problem it is, but I know lots of people around here do marijuana. We've had a few drug busts in the past few years, including one involving like 15 people - almost all Indian. A couple of them were 18 years old and so it was going on their permanent records. Way to **** up your lives. :)

One of my friends has started smoking marijuana and I'm trying my best to distance myself from her. She's convinced that it's not bad because she's not going to get addicted or anything, but she keeps going back to it (dumbass).

Actually, I think we have more of a problem with alcohol, since all these rich kids' parents have bars in their basements and leave the house for long periods of time, so their children have parties and everyone gets drunk. Once we had like 15-20 kids in my grade get suspended because they put pictures up online of them holding open beer cans.

Last year at my junior high school there was an issue with cocaine. We constantly had drug dogs on the prowl, which seemed to intimidate most people, but not all.

But the worst I've heard this year is someone giving my friend a piece of candy laced with LSD.

*Must I add: Many of my classmates drink at parties. It's the adults who happily provide the alcohol (Smirnoff, if that's spelled right), too.

And I'll be sure to say that about 1/4 of the freshman class has already lost their virginity.

When I was a freshman, the freshman class president hosted a party at her house while her parents were away, so alcohol was being served. Most of the guests were athletes. A lot of them got busted when the school saw pictures on Xanga.

Drugs are bad here too. Alot of South American drugs are trafficked through here to miami quite easily and th epolice knows but doesnt't do much about it

yeah..my school is basically populated with rich white kids who have nothing better to do with their time than smoke pot in the mcdonald's parking lot..it even has a drug-related nickname..

the other day, about 80 kids rode bikes to school because they heard there was going to be a drug bust and they can't search bicycles. lol

I apologize for diverting away from the topic, but have any of you noticed that a good deal of children of more affluent parents happen to be more lazy, naive, promiscuous, and self-destructive? It's quite an intriguing observation.

Yeah nearly everyone i know from backgrounds like that are wastes or pot addics...most of the smart and successful kids at my school come from lower-class backgrounds

of course, this isn't true in a lot of cases...not trying to offend anyone with overgeneralizations.
