Yea..I'm taking 4 AP's this year..bio, apush, calc ab, and lit. The thing is, I do ok-good on the tests, and all of my teacher's tests are ridiculously hard, especially for bio and calc. I have an A in bio, apush, and liot, but a B in calc. I study my arse off in order to pull off my above 4.0 GPA and I ask for help, all that good stuff.

One problem. Last year, when I took AP Euro, I got a B+ (teacher was hard), but I felt I knew stuff, you know? Yea...the ap test finally comes, and I find out in July or whenever I found out that I got a 1!!!!!! *, a 1, i was so mad and i literally cried, because people who got B- and Cs got a 3. *????

I don't want to screw up this bad in junior year because my teachers are awesome teachers, there is no grade inflation or any of that stuff. And also, I want to apply to Stanford, UC berk, all of them. I don't want colleges tot hink "oh the teacher did grade inflation, REJECTED"

Honestly, colleges like the fact that you take the AP but dont get ones!!! Like my ap english lang teacher told me, “the eng lan exam is hard, but if you get a 2 or more, colleges like that”

i do try. but after like a test, i forget the material so i have to go back and review. but for the apush and ap lit final, i did good ont hose because my apush gave a study guide which i reviewed for like 2 days straight and for ap lit, i thot the mc was kinda easy? yea…for apiush i got an 85 on the final and ap lit, got a 91…

Yes I am. I noticed that you changed my thread title. I was just expressing my feelings at the time, no need to get all angry. But now I realized that this is a better title, thank you.

I see your writing has improved in your last post. I couldn’t tell if you wrote on your AP test like you wrote in your first post. Yes, stay calm, because usually on an AP test just writing well in the free-response sections ought to be good for a score of, say, 3 for a subject you’ve studied thoroughly before.

Yes, maybe I should stay calm. I’m sorry I wrote like that, it is not acceptable on such a prestigious forum. My impending doom struck me at this late hour, and I realized that life follows a quote: “make it or break it.” I certainly do not want to break it, I want to make something.

Sounds like a fluke. Either you bubbled your answers in wrong, or they couldn’t read your essays or something. I can’t think of any other reason, because if you managed to pull out that grade in a hard Euro class and prepared accordingly for the test, I don’t see how you could’ve gotten a 1. =/

For the AP Euro final, our teacher gave us an old AP exam. I did not study at all because I did not know what to study and the teacher didn’t give us a study guide, just expected us to know. I missed the pass/fail mark by 1 point and my grade dropped from an A to B+. For the AP exam, I studied way more than what I did for the final, but I got a 1 while others who did not do anything and failed tests got a 3. I’m not saying these people are dumb, they can be quite smart and intelligent, but I mean, failing in class = 3 or more on AP exam?

My brother failed AP Chem and pulled out a 2 on the exam. Since we’re talking about a history course, I think you should’ve been able to BS up to a 2, at least, if you didn’t study at all, and pull out a 3 if you studied some. Hence, the 1 being a bit suspicious…

Should I just not report it in college admissions?

And also, one more question, is GPA count more than AP exam scores? I got a 4.6 GPA 1st sem junior year. We are on our 2nd now and I have the same so far, lol

Typically, AP scores don’t hurt you at all. They can help you by making your application “shine”. But beyond that, getting a 1 isn’t that big of a deal. It’s impressive that you did take it though.
