I got a new pod, but dont want to spend $1000 filling it up: Limewire=SAFE?

hello has anyone here gotten viruses, popups, spyware, slowdown and that kind of evil stuff from using limewire?

if yes, do you guys know of anything else?
ow that i have a pod, i think i need something like limewire.

Nobody actually buys everything (or possible most of the stuff) on their MP3 players. I reccomend to use bittorrent for albums or get transfers (in mIRC or AIM or something) from people you know.

I use limewire for my ipod and it's a proven fact Limewir=Spyware. When I scan my computer for it, it advises I delete the program because it's giving me spyware, but c'mon now, free music? or a little info leaked?

Limewire is the best!

are there any safer programs out there?

USE ARES!!!! <--------- BEST P2P PROGRAM EVER + no spyware! If you don't ill slap you

I second Ares.......I've had no problems with it

Bearshare is the way to be

I love limewire. Bearshare used to be great but it totally messed up my computer and gave me viruses- i had to reformat the whole system. Limewire has never given me any problems.

Yeah I love limewire too. I've been using it for a year and my computer is as fast as ever. I remember I wrote something just like this several months ago and my post was deleted . . but apparently now they don't care

I used to use Limewire but since it's kinda illegal I stopped. Plus my iPod broke so...

I just go to my library and take out from their impressive CD collection.

the Ares website seems quite sketchy though... limewire says it doesnt transmit spyware.. but what about adware?

I use limewire and im happy with it but i get faster downloads when I download one song at a time (like less then a min or something)
I'm not sure if we have heaps of spyware on our computer.. we don't get pop ups.. i think that means we dont have spy ware..?or adware..? i dunno.. i dont get these techy stuff.
But i like limewire a lot!

you cant get viruses or stuff after you delete the limewire program right? stupid question, but you never know.

i use kazaa and limewire for music and never had any major problems. If you wanna be completely safe though, i heard there was this Russian company kinda like itunes that sells songs for 10 cents each, but i forget the name.

"i heard there was this Russian company kinda like itunes that sells songs for 10 cents each..."

You make it sound sort of shady.

limewire = slow your computer down?

Yeah definitely got a virus from Limewire. My fault I guess... I was trying to download a crack for counterstrike heh. Use azureus or bitlord for a bittorrent client and search on piratebay.org, life will be easier. I used ares and kazaa for a long time, but their downloads got so slow I had to move on. And tidal, limewire only slows down your computer a bit, unless you're downloading 40 songs (which... I don't suggest...), or you just happen to download a file containing a virus that continuously opens limewire... even after you've deleted it! Needless to say, I hold some grief, but it's okay as long as you don't use it for cracks and keygens and stuff...

I use poisoned, and I have absoloutely no problems with it. Plus, it combines a few different programs, so you usually find what you're looking for.
