I got an acceptance letter

Hindoo, your daughter most surely will be accepted. My son's SAT was a 2290 too (800cr,800writing,690math); SATII's (800History,790BioE,780WorldHistory); top 2 percent in class; etc.

Its about two weeks left until April 1st!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you, CMA1. I'm wondering if they doubted my daughter's sincerity. We visited and toured, but opted out of an interview when she felt ill. Who knows? We visited Fordham in October. My daughter much preferred the more traditional Rose Hill campus, but her desired theater major pointed her toward Lincoln Center. Once we were in New York City, the hectic hub-bub of life did not entirely appeal to her. ... So, maybe it's OK that she's not an "exceptional" student. Best wishes for your son!

why is someone from kentucky interested in fordham?

Uh, 'cause it's a pretty awesome school?

Just wondering, to those of you who have already recieved letters, did any of you audition as theater majors?

"why is someone from kentucky interested in fordham?"
Um. Because it's a great school. Because it's not in Kentucky.

Hindoo: I'd just like to say that it's so bizarre that your daughter did not recieve one of those letters. She is way, way more exceptional than I am... no offense to Fordham (after all, it's where I want to go), but I think she could do way better (prestige wise) than Fordham

Is anyone else cant wait until the rest of the decision letters are out?! I keep thinking about it all the time, and am so very worried. I would love to go to Fordham, it seems to be such a wonderful place to study. I would be very grateful if they accept me, I hope I am suitable for Fordham.
I wish good luck to everyone here in this forum!

DVER, you attitude is wonderful...I hope you get into Fordham!!!! ANd whatever happens you will do well

When my D got in EA, the letters to people were scattered as well....my D got hers about a week after many, and some heard even later

just they way their offices worked

Citygirlsmom, thank you very much! I just think Fordham is a great school for LOTS of reasons! Lol i can go on forever telling why I think its great!
Congradulations to your daughter, I am very happy for her!
I really do hope so much that I can be as lucky as her, however my sat result was awful that what might reduce my chances. But I will keep being optimistic and hope for a better outcome!
I will post here if I got in or not!

Dver, I also really hope your get admitted. I don't know if your guidance counselor is any good but maybe he/she could call the admission's office and make a personal appeal for you; or perhaps a teacher who knows you well. Are you from NY? Having a great passion for a school is part of what makes a student attractive to a college. The SAT is only criteria. I just hope that your passion for the school has been conveyed to Fordham.

Well you know I got 1240/2400, it was my first time taking it and I found out about what SAT is just two months before that actual exam, that result is below average and Fordham is too good for that.
I study in Uk and I have done quite a lot of research on many English and US colleges and so far Fordham is the best school I think!
I know I am good at a lot of other things, such as foreign languages and social studies etc. I am not that kind of student the way my sat result shows. I know I have a lot of other good qualities which I can bring to Fordham, I am a hard working student. I would really feel part of the school there I am sure, not like how I feel here. I feel that it can become home to me and I can meet a lot of friendly people!
I dont know if I should ask my teacher to call and if it will effect their decision. But I am sure they will know better who will suit and who wont for that school and I respect that. I am very careful with everything. I would definitly re-apply if they give me that possibility.
However I am still hoping for a good outcome!

also got an early letter last week! i dont think i'll be going though.. just curious, but does anyone else feel that like if you get an early letter, the school isn't as good as you in a way? not to sound arrogant or condescending or anything, but i was just wondering if anyone was turned off by seeing that you were way way way exceptional at a safety school..

Lol if i got that letter, i would be definitly going!

Dver, you are an international applicant? If so, that increases your odds greatly.

gopumas07, the fact that you rec'ed a early letter, taken alone, should not lead you to feel that the school must not be that good. However, maybe you just applied to the particular school as a safety and are hoping for other acceptances. That makes sense.

CMA1 I have lived in three different European countries and learned all their languages. So you think it will really increase my chances???!!! I am SO hoping for it!

Kendal12--What a sweet and gracious post! I can tell you right now, you are modest to a fault. Obviously, Fordham sees something in you that they really, really like. It's a wonderful school!

Dver--I agree with CMA1. I hope you're admitted to Fordham. Your attitude is priceless. They'd be lucky to have you.

Gopumas07--Fordham may be a safety for you, but remember that it's also a very good school, and one that offers opportunities that most other colleges don't. (Living in or near New York--what could be better?) Be happy that Fordham saw you as exceptional; my 35 ACT/2290 SAT daugther was apparently not exceptional in their eyes. Obviously, they're looking for something other than high test scores, and they think they've found it in you--so celebrate being among the extraordinary!

Hindoo, thank you very much, and I wish all the best of luck to your daughter!!! I really know how it is, waiting for the decision letter from Fordham. But I am sure she has a good chance there, she sounds like a very good student, I really do hope she will get accepted!
I really cant know if they take me. If I am accepted I would work and study so very hard, it is just my dream to go there! I think anyone is so very luck who is accepted there, and I am truly happy for those people, I think its just a great school!

I'm getting nervous here. I received an email about 1 week ago stating that my file wasn't complete (transcript error).
