I signed up for the December ACT w/ Writing because I thought it was probable that I wouldn't be accepted ED... but I was :). Is there any benefit from taking the ACT at all now that I've been accepted? Would W&M take these scores into account for scholarships if I sent them? Are there any significant scholarships that are not specifically affiliated with W&M that I would benefit from having, say, a 33-34 ACT rather than a 2130 SAT?

Congratulations! Not sure about your question but it seems to me that a 2130 SAT is high enough for any scholarships you might be applying for. Maybe you should see if the W&M Admission person responds or get in touch with them and see what they say.

W&M doesn’t have much in the way of scholarships. The Monroe program is only money for research. Your numbers are likely not competitive for the College Scholars program (I think that’s what it’s called, there are only 4).

I have no idea about outside scholarships… that’s up to you and your research!

Generally speaking we do not recommend that students admitted ED take another standardized test unless they are doing so for outside scholarships. While a higher test score would be considered during our scholarship review, it’s also possible that a December ACT won’t arrive in our office in time to be considered during our scholarship review.

So in the end, it’s really up to you.
