So my GPA isn't that high (3.40ish, major GPA is 3.86) and, as I found out today, I'm missing two whole pre-reqs for UCLA applied math.
Would someone like to explain how in the world this happened? Do you think they made a mistake?
Can I call the admissions hotline to find out why they accepted me?
Meanwhile, Berkeley was turning away great applied math applicants left and right.

You want to find out why the ACCEPTED you??? I would NOT call them to ask why you were accepted! Be happy with your acceptance, you got in for a reason.

I need to know that reason!

Uclas applied math program is very strong. Be glad you got in

Seriously lol

Unless you entered your grades and classes wrong, I would be partying and celebrating…

Hmm. I see, you plan on appealing to Cal. Now it makes a bit more sense! Perhaps UCLA liked your essays?

What major did you apply for at Cal?

It’s strong, but does not feature biomath (I guess that’d be the applied science track in the math department) like Cal’s applied math program does. My whole personal statement was about my desire to join up bio and math.
When I put in applied math as my primary for UCLA, I actually remember thinking, haha, there is no way I’m getting into this with the missing classes.

^ Applied math.

I got into math/econ at UCLA missing 2 pre-reqs (3.87 GPA). It’s quite a simple explanation. Math is NOT impacted at UCLA and even missing a few classes it is very doable to complete in 2 years after transfer.

I got rejected from Cal as well, but I like UCLA better anyways.

LOL… What a question!
