<p>Yeah some universities like Vtech don’t mind telling people why they didn’t make it but that’s because they are more number oriented. For schools like UVA or Duke where the reasons are more subjective and intangible, it would be difficult to tell you exactly why.</p>

<p>The simple answer is that there is no rhyme nor reason to the admissions process at major institutions. You will never know why you were rejected or waitlisted…even if someone from the school were to offer an explanation there is no reason to believe that it represents the truth. Just put it behind you and go on.</p>

<p>I guess Duke felt the same way, and the other schools that have rejected her? Please, you have to draw a line somewhere, she looks good on paper, but none of us know if she had huge typos on her essays or if her recommendations were actually good.</p>

<p>also, I read somewhere that after a certain point, SATs don’t matter so much. </p>
<p>For example, someone with a 2200 may have been more qualified than someone with a 2390 in all other aspects.</p>

<p>Stupefy: Been reading this thread for awhile and I’m curious, if you get into all or most of your remaining schools, do you have an idea of where you will go? I thought I applied to a lot of schools…10 but I think I counted 14 for you! Good Luck</p>
<p>I would suggest, if Stupefy is still interested in UVA, having your state senator or congressman write to UVA – or if you know someone like that, even better. A person at my D’s high school got off the wait list (with MUCH lower stats than yours) when their senator or congressman wrote a letter to UVA. It can depend on who you know.</p>
<p>Although, I personally would go to a school that wanted me!</p>
