Definitions:

Sprinter: Shorter distances like: 100m, 200m, 400m, 100 and 300 hurdles, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 meter relays.

Distance: Longer distances like: 400m (sometimes), 800m, 1600m, 3200m, 4x800, 4x1600, and DMR which I don't know what that is.

When I was in 7th grade, I was a sprinter, and track was so much fun.

8th grade track: I switched to distance. Jaws theme starts playing... Anyways, I loved it.

9th grade: I started cross country (5K runs) and I loved it.
Track season: I loved it, because it was different.

10th grade: Jaws theme ends, scarier music plays Cross country and track became repetitive, but I still liked them.

11th grade (Current): Cross country was borderline.

Right now I'm running track, and it sucks. We only got to run in 3 meets this year (my last one is on Monday.) That's because I'm a distance guy.

We have these meets:
Varsity A Meets
Varsity B Meets
JV Meets

Me and like 90% of the distance people are forever banished to the JV Meets. In Var A/B meets, they can put either 2 or 4 people per event (4 per relay.) Well today (Friday night) was both a Varsity A and B meet.

Guess who got to run? 11 of the ~50 distance guys.

Out of the sprinters, just about everyone got to run. Wow track is so lame, and next year they're cutting down also so we will pay $150 for probably 3 track meets again.

/endrant

Thank God my last meet is on Monday.
