But loooove XC. I am only doing it for my twin sister who wants to get in shape. I can run on my own, but she wanted me to do it with her.

The meets are freaking long. And we miss so much school. And since the track coach is also the cross country coach and he knows I am only doing it to stay in shape for cross country, he has me to the 3200. 8 laps gets so boring.

I’m not a fan of Track either. I’m accustomed to the 5k in Cross Country and it’s kinda a shame that none of the events in Track are that long. Plusss long distance on the track is hell so I do sprinting which I suck at.

And the meets seriously are long as hell, you’re right about that. At a typical meet I spend 2 minutes racing and 4 hours standing around.

Yeah I seriously can’t imagine running 3200m on the track. I’d be wanting to quit after like 1200m… because you get half way and then you realize “oh crap, I still have 4 more laps.”

And it’s a pain how the 4x400 is always last. I hate anticipating it the whole time.

Oh man, I’d take a track over dirt and grass any day. I’d also take a 30s-60s race over one that takes several minutes to complete any day as well lol.

I HATE the 400! Ugh my coach wanted to put me in and I was like, no. Please lord no. It’s torture. I have endurance for long distances.

But yeah. Getting halfway through and still having to do four more laps really sucks. Especially since it’s the first event and you barely have enough time to prepare for it.

^You do when a guy goes 1:50 or sub 4:10. Personally, compared to the 800m. the 400 is a cakewalk. If you’re in shape you don’t really feel it and it’s just one extended sprint.

I personally think that in the 800, it’s quite easy to slip up, while in the 400, it’s more instinctual. You just go, whereas in the 800, you can’t do that.

it’s usually just a race between me and all the other cross country girls at my school. We basically do cross country work outs and then during meets coach sticks us in the two-mile.

Good thing I like running long distances. Ha.

hahhaa stereotypically, I should be good at anything running related…since i’m East african LOL. But i actually kinda suck at it i quit track after freshman year (for other reasons)…

once our coach made me and a bunch of other girls run the 400 at a meet as a puishment for showing up late/not showing up for a practice at all hahaha
