I have a D in Anatomy and Physiology first semester of senior year

Help me, theres a chance that i will recieve a D on my first semester report card in anatomy. This is an a-g course, and i have already met the requirements for a-g. My high school G.P.A is a 3.2 and I’ve already applied to CSU Monterey Bay, Fresno state, CSU East bay, and i plan on applying to CSU Sacramento and San Jose State( I know all CSU, lol). I just dont want my application to be rescinded, I know I will do better next semester. My counselor said that I will be fine because i met the requirements already ,and that I dont need the class. But im still unsure. Help,do i still have a chance.

I would double check with your counselor again because most CSU’s will give you a provisional admission offer which includes maintaining a minimum grade of C in your Senior year for all a-g courses. I would be concerned since this would be a reason for the schools to rescind your acceptance. Both son’s whom applied to CSU’s were given these conditions for the provisional admission regardless of fulfilling their a-g course requirements.

Each campus may have different requirements for the provisional admission. You would need to contact each school and see what they say in regards to your current D grade.

This is from the CSU Admission Handbook:

A preliminary admission offer may be rescinded for applicants who do
not accurately report their academic performance or who do not retain eligibility at the time of high school graduation, e.g., failure to complete courses in progress, failure to maintain the grade point average, etc.

Thank you, should i contact them now or should I do it next semester?

If the D is on your transcript, I would contact them now and find out what you can do to remedy the situation. They may just tell you to make sure you get it up to a C by years end. It is much better to find out now what your options are then later when you may not have any options.

Well its not on their yet, semester isn’t over. So I will try to bring it up to a c- by the end of the semester, if I cant, I will contact them.

Good luck and work hard to get that grade up to a C. Any chance you could withdraw/drop the course? Since you have fulfilled the a-g course requirements, it will not impact your admission decision vs. a D grade.

Too late to drop it, I could next semester, but im going to stay in the class if i dont get a C.

This seems like mostly a brute force memorization class. Do you just need to really grind out more time and nailing the material for the remaining weeks of the semester to pull up your grade?

Yeah
