I hate attending CSUN and may drop out..I attended CSUN for a year. I would like to attend FIDM San Diego instead...Their admission requirements is SAT or ACT scores, gpa, interview, and essay. OR will I have to wait two years and transfer to FIDM? However, all the classes from CSUN cannot be transferred to FIDM because they have different systems...

Hi!
I have to admit, I love CSUN and I went to school there but I also have friends who went to FIDM. Both are great schools but I will say that if you want to pursue a career in the fashion industry then FIDM is a better fit for you. Especially if you’re not happy at CSUN. You have to do what makes you happy because that’s where you’ll be spending the majority of your time and your money. In terms of what classes would transfer, I would talk to an advisor at FIDM to see what your options are. Some of your classes may transfer but you don’t know unless you ask. From what my friend says, the advisors at FIDM are very nice and have a lot of experience with students coming from other colleges to attend FIDM. Either way, you can’t go wrong going to FIDM and I think you will benefit in the long run. Go to FIDM’s website at: [FIDM: Launch a creative career, from Fashion Design to Digital Media](http://www.fidm.edu) and there you can get in touch with an advisor. Hope this helps :)

What’s your major and what don’t you like about CSUN? I’m asking because CSUN is my backup school.

Even if you went to Harvard, or even an art school like Otis College of Art & Design, or a community college, the units will always most likely never transfer to FIDM. FIDM’s curriculum is not “typical” in the 4 year college sense, nor even in he 2 year associates degree sense. You can only transfer classes that are relative to the major or school. There’s no reason for a school to give you credit for say “Astronomy” when FIDM most likely does not offer any equivalent, nor have a degree requirement for a “physical science” that will allow you to transfer “astronomy” over just to get credit for it.
Getting into FIDM is almost as easy simply filling out a community college application. Their standards are basically non existant. I say this because I’ve never met a person who has been rejected by the school.

Definetly not true about how difficult the transfer process is to go to FIDM. I am a student of FIDM right now and I actually transferred from a CAL State and my Admissions ADvisor at FIDM was super helpful helping me figure out the transfer process and what would work. They have tons of connections to colleges because students do transfer often especially if they have a passion for fashion or design and making that their business or career. I loved design and wanted to pursue interior design after I realized that I had a knack for it helping my friends and roomates design their rooms. First and foremost if you want to apply at FIDM talk to an adivisor about your concerns as I am sure they can check their transfer schools and talk about credits etc. as well as financial aid help and housing help if needed. Going to FIDM was the best decision I made leaving my other college. I just couldnt see myself continuing with philosophy like my parents wanted me too. FIDM Alumni success stories and the fact that my Career Advisor has already connected me to some high profile people in the industry for jobs only further proves that FIDM was the best choice. Also FIDM is as intensive any other college. Believe me! So be prepared to work hard and reap rewards. Hope this helps!
