Freshman Merit Scholarships
The awarding of academic admissions scholarships is highly competitive. Less than 10% of our incoming Fall 2016 freshman class will receive a scholarship.
To receive an invitation to apply for academic merit scholarships, students must be admitted to FIU prior to November 15, 2015. Students are strongly encouraged to submit a completed admissions application by October 15, 2015 to allow time for the application to be processed. The last test date results used for scholarship consideration are SAT - October 3, 2015 and ACT - September 12, 2015.
Once admission is offered, scholarship invitations will be sent via e-mail to eligible* students. Scholarship applications must be completed no later than November 30, 2015 via fiu.academicworks.com. A completed scholarship application consists of two letters of recommendation and a personal statement.

Less than top 1% of PSAT takers per state qualify as a finalist
Must be awarded one of the scholarships listed above and be selected as a finalist for the scholarship program.
Full tuition, fees, room and board, up to the cost of attendance as published by the Office of Student Financials.
National Achievement

Transfer Merit Scholarships
