I refuse to post my stats thread.

Who here besides me refuses to post their stats and/or make annoying "rate my chances" threads?

You did it last year and are in your past threads.

That was last year. I have learned how pathetic it is. I hope the adcoms read CC and rejected me on account of the fact that I stooped so low as to ask for my chances on a message board.

No, they probably just rejected you on account of the fact that you act like a pompous ass.

What is your problem?

No, I am just mature enough to recognize that asking for your chances on a message board is not only a complete waste of time, but demonstrates a lack of maturity and self-confidence.

wow matt. You're on a crusade aren't you. this site is for statistics evaluation and support. You must not care much since it seems you're a lock for many of your schools.

Douchebag. That's not mature, is it?

It is just getting annoying. There is absolutely no point in asking for stat evaluations on a message board like this. Why can't people just relax and let whatever is going to happen just happen?

I am all for the support aspect of this board, and here is the biggest form of support: don't post "rate my chances" threads. Instead, do an activity that helps you develop self-confidence and a care-free attitude.

College admissions these days is a very arbitrary, stressful process. People want information somehow, no matter how unreliable the source. Sometimes you just need someone to say, "Oh, I know someone with your GPA who..." etc. or someone to say "just add a few extracurriculars or get your GPA up by 0.2 and I think you'll have a shot." It's stupid to rely too much on what someone on CC tells you, sure, but I think it can help a little.

And please correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you the one who recently posted an article that you wrote on CC? For other people to read? I don't suppose (if that was you, if it's not, I'm sorry) that was because you wanted anyone's admiration, was it? I don't see how that's really any better than posting stats. And you didn't do it last year...

I posted my article so that we could hopefully have an intellectual discussion as opposed to swimming through mindless "rate my chances" posts.

Well, fine. I can appreciate that. And it was a good article.

It'd be nice if you could be a little more understanding, though. People are just neurotic about this. I am, I admit it. If you don't want to read the chances posts, don't. But don't belittle anyone else for posting them. It's easy to do that if you've got good shots at good schools, and I'd be willing to bet that you do, given that you can write.

No one SERIOUSLY thinks that people on CC can give them accurate ratings, I hope. It's just a way to benchmark, discuss, etc., and maybe get tips from someone who has transferred before or who has stats similar to yours. Don't be so judgemental.

If you want an intellectual discussion, go to class, hit up a buddy, read a freakin' book. You are such a hypocrite. You sit here an admonish others for "wasting their time" while they should be doing something constructive. So, let me ask you this: what the hell are you doing? Oh right right, haha, sitting on CC, chit-chating away about nothing.

If you hate chances threads so much, just skip the threads that are named "Rate my chances". It's not so hard, is it?

No, I was admonishing you for arguing that you didn't have the time to apply to other schools while you clearly did.

Because just seeing the title takes 7.21212 months off of my life :( . Seriously, people just need to relax and not worry so much about whether or not they get into Harvard. I used to be like that, and looking back, I was a complete loser. If people realized how much better off their lives would be if they didn't compulsively ask for their chances, then they wouldn't make such threads.

I filled out my applications when I had AIDS, the Flu, and Ebola all at the same time.

Last time I checked, matm1, one cannot have "had" AIDS -- seeing as there's no thing called a cure and once you have contracted it, there is no getting rid of it.

Plus, I highly doubt that is true. You would have probably died had you had all three of those at once.
