I removed the meal plan from my bill, but it still shows up.

I removed my meal plan since I am in apt. style housing. I really want to pay my bill now, but the charge isn't being deducted. Do I still have to pay it, and will they refund me some credit for next semester? Or am I going to have to wait longer?

Thanks

just deduct it

I need to adjust for a Stafford loan and the bursar's office said to just deduct the amount of it from my payment. They update the billing statements just once per month.

In some schools, all dorm dwellers must have some sort of meal plan. Usually apartment style housing requires 5 meals per week, and freshmen have a higher minimum regardless of dorm.

it should show up on the 'recent activity' section.

I changed my son from 10 meals per week to 175 flex and it appeared there the next day (the cost is the same so it didn't affect my bill), The housing assignment page also reflects the change. It only took 1 day to 'show' on the system

mominva, nyu apartment style housing does not require a mealplan.

if you removed it, it will be deducted. it just will not automatically show. (sue in philly, your situation probably went through because you only switched meal plans, you didn't cancel it...)

I heard from someone else that you can just pay the stated amount, and later on when the bill is updated there'll be a positive balance, which will then be mailed to your home. Is that right?

It better be, because I just sent in a bankdraft for 27 grand and about 1,000+ worth of that is for my meal plan, which I decided NOT to get.

On the tuition schedule, it says you don't need to pay off the bill in full until 6 business days after you initially register for classes, and I won't get to register until probably the 27th or 28th, so does that mean the balance of the bill isn't due until sometime in september? The ebill says I owe something like $1400 but they're reversing the $589 charge for insurance (which I declined) AFTER I register for classes. Seriously, how does NYU expect me to pay the bill before it's finalized with no guarantee that I'll get the money back if I overpay?
