I want to get into NYU

Okay, so I want to get into NYU and my current grades and GPA isn't that good. My school's grade only goes up to 95. Meaning the highest grade I can get in a class is 95, unless it's an AP class.

My current average is 85 point something and the GPA in my school is found by subtracting 55 from 85, which would give me a 3.0-3.1 GPA. I'm currently in my junior year, the classes I am taking now currently are:

Algebra 2 and Trig
Physics
AP US History
English
Pre Calculus
French
Weight Training

This is the last semester and I plan to get almost straight 95s, except for French and maybe Pre Calculus, everything else is possible.

My after school activities would probably be a sports program I attend for an hour or two, three times a week. Senior Math Team, although I'm not the brightest math person and neither am I a senior.

Anyways, I plan to add more to this list this cycle, if not this summer and the beginning of next school year.

Currently, I want to get into NYU PolyTech but I would like to transfer to the main NYU in Manhattan. I live in Brooklyn and would like to stay in the city. Someone I know, with an average 1 point higher than mine and 1550 on his SAT, got accepted this year. I scored 1550 on my PSAT :P Didn't take SAT yet, will do this June... sadly didn't start studying yet.

But anyways, is this possible and would this be wise? I want to major in either engineering or business. The main NYU is very prestigious and will help me get connections and such.

So I'm asking if I should try for NYU Poly and later transfer to main NYU or should I go to another school? Anything is an option as long as in NY state or any states around it.

I want to go to NYU mainly because of connections, prestige, located in Manhattan, some of my friends are planning to go there, among other things.

Thank You for the help!

What school do you go to?

Tech?

I go to Edward R. Murrow.

NYU gives iffy financial aid to applicants with so-so stats. They assign financial aid by desirability so even if you get accepted, it might not be possible to attend

Can you afford full-pay at NYU? They are infamous for their godawful financial aid policies.
