Living with my parents is extremely annoying, intimidating, and it's really making me depressed. I'm 18, and I can support myself. What are my options if I don't want to live with my parents for this summer?

You would have to discuss it with them. Otherwise it could end up really nasty and then you may never get to speak with them on good terms...

but generally:
--apartments
--summer classes at community college/live in nearby apartments
--travel

Support yourself? Do you have good credit? A month and half of rent for the security deposit? Plus the utlities? I doubt that your summer job can support you for the summer unless you want to stay home on weekends and not go out to clubs and parties where you have to spend money to get in.

Seriously, what's bothering you? Tell your parents that you want to try your independence but because you are still under their roof and they have food in the fridge for you, you do need to abide by their rules. Make compromises. Learn to do this now in practice for your roommate in the fall. You can't stew around and get angry with a roommate and not say anything. Let it out.

Wherefore?

live with some friends. it's fun :)

If you speak with your parents, in a calm rational manner, they may be willing to both allow you your freedom and even help out with the costs of moving.

My mom has been acting the same way lately and I just can't wait until September. Right now I only wish I was going farther away, like at least out of state. I keep telling myself all parents get a little crazy the summer before sending a child off to college, I only hope its true, and not permanent...

my parents just bought a house. they told me i can party there and they will leave. im never leaving home. except im in my apartment in my college.

Wow, I'm home from college (just finished freshman year) and I love being at home! It's so nice having my mom cook favorite "home meals", sleeping in, etc. I don't want to leave :(

I'm sorry to hear that things aren't going that well over for you.

If you can support yourself and you want to then go out and do it. I mean, you're 18. You can do what you want. Just be warned that they may not take you back if you fall flat (most parents would, but only you know yours.)
