IB art or AP environmental

Hey!

I’m currently a junior in the IB Program at my school. I am testing out of Psych SL this year, leaving me with a free period. I’ve heard by several sources taking another class instead of a free period is very appealing to college. I now am faced with two option: IB Art or AP environmental Science?

There’s only one student in my grade level who takes IB Art and it can make me seem creative to UF (top choice)

I currently take IB Biology HL which would look great if I am doing well in it while taking AP environmental as well.

Which should I take? I aspire to go to UF and am taking every possible measure to improve my chances of acceptance. Feel free to leave any of your thoughts here!

Thank you!

I would say what do you want to major in?

Biology.

Take either one, there isn’t much difference when it comes to UF’s admissions. They both are viewed as about the same rigor (UF want’s you to take rigorous classes).

Of course, make sure you’ve taken the minimum requirements for UF (but an IB program requirements would already match UF’s).

UF’s Minimum Requirements:

4 YEARS: English & Math

3 YEARS: Social Science

3 YEARS: Natural Sciences, two with labs

2 YEARS: Foreign Language (sequential)

I would say take the one that interests you the most…or the one that you can handle the workload of.
AP Env. science is a sort of “lite” AP. Take it if you like the topic.
Take Art if you like Art. You may not get much chance to take Art classes in the future.

So it won’t have any effect on my admissions decision no matter which one I choose because they’re both considered rigorous?
