Yes!
Diploma awarded! Yesyesyes!
Not the best scores in the world, but they’re mostly solid 5’s. Only failed bio, but hey I honestly don’t care now.
And an unexpected A on my EE when my teacher predicted a B makes me feel fantastic.

@IBfootballer

Haha that’s an amazing score! And if you don’t mind me asking how difficult was the exam? I do fairly well in the class but it’s the whole write 3 essays, 45 minutes each that’s killing me Did you finish each like well before time was over or did you have to rush?

5 on my IB Physics SL exam!
Thank god I didn’t fail :)

wait, you all got your scores? How? via snail mail? D is waiting for her diploma, but she is traveling overseas.

IB scores can be checked online at [Error Occurred While Processing Request](http://results.ibo.org)
The diploma comes via snail mail sometime in August (at least from what I’ve heard.)

arsenal: thanks!

I managed to have 2 of my Paper 3 essays be essentially about the same topic (League of nations). My last essay I had 20 mins for, and I managed to finish the conclusion just before time expired.

If your instructors didn’t know this, DBQs for the next several years will all be on the League of Nations.

Ok good, so I know what to study just in case. Thanks! I’m still scared about that exam though O_o History will be the death of me! sigh Why does it have to be 45 min My hand can’t write that fast lol

5 in spanish SL. I barely studied but the test was hella easy. so I’m satisfied.

and I got a 6 in math SL! yay!!!

arsenal, IBFootballer has posted previously that his school’s IB HL was Euro – if your school does History of the Americas, your DBQs may be something else.

^ Oh! Haha thanks! Yeah, that changes it a bit; I do History of the Americas Well I guess I could always track down one of the IB seniors that just graduated :)

But I finally got my scores!!

Spanish B SL: 7
ITGS SL: 4

A little disappointed in itgs but it was the first year they offered it and it was really unorganized so I guess I should be happy I just didn’t fail lol.

^yeah, that does change things.

regardless, try to find the DBQ for history of the Americas for this past year. it will be on the same topic next year.

arsenalcrazy, I graduated this year and took History of the Americas HL. Like you, I was worried about the limited amount of time given to write three essays, but it actually went really well. I had plenty of time- I spent about ten minutes at the beginning planning the three essays, took my time with each essay, took frequent breaks, and still finished about thirty minutes early. I don’t know whether I just wrote really quickly or what, but I didn’t feel rushed at all. Don’t worry about it! You’ll be just fine.

The DBQ came from the Communism in Crisis section of the syllabus, and the topic this year was China under Deng Xiaoping.

so what were everyone’s scores?

For me, this year was 5 in HL english, 6 in HL history, 4 in HL bio, 6 in Math Studies, A on bothPeace/Conflict studies EE and TOK.

Last year: 4 on Econ SL (<—I can’t understand why), 5 on Spanish SL.

33 points total.

Not great, but since I’m in a US university, I don’t care.

I struggled some with the longer essays on the HL History, but primarily because I was trying to write an IR dissertation in the time space of a history paper lol.

FYI, for history of the americas, there are a couple of different DBQ options that your TEACHER picks from. So you only see the one choice. The teacher is supposed to tell you which one you’re doing. My class did the communism in crisis one and got something about China, but it also could have been about the soviet union. Look at the syllibus - its all there.

I got 2 5s, 2 6s and a 7 (and a 6 last year) so I’m super happy even though I won’t really get credit for anything. I got a C on my EE, but I didn’t fail it so I still get the diploma and thats good enough for me!

Got 45 points WOOHOOOOO! (math, physics, econ HL, and English A1, French B, chem SL)
But still rejected from Harvard, Stanford and MIT. None of them seemed to appreciate the fact that as an international student I was working my ASS of for the IB, trying to teach myself this whole American SAT/application system, and maintain a balanced life.

Anyhow, I’m into Oxford so that’s where I’ll be next year. Good luck to everyone getting results. It’s been one hell of a ride.

All during my junior year. phew. I survived by doing an EE on a topic I’ve never studied (anthro xD)

For the data hounds among you, here is a link to the 2009 IB Statistics –
500;

The mean score for diploma candidates was 29.51 (including bonus points). Mean EE/TOK points was 1.07. For 2009, 5.53% of diploma candidates got an A on the TOK paper; 14.58% got an A on the EE (though rates vary by subject area).

A score of 40 was the 96.32%tile; 86 students scored a 45.

Keep in mind these are last year’s numbers, but they may offer some comfort/wry amusement, etc.

^^^disagreement, congrats to you! It really is flying blind on some of these subjects…
My S did a paper in a school-based subject – and his school doesn’t teach it! We searched everywhere for a syllabus and the school was not able to help.

Oh my, same boat! I found a syllabus thankfully, and it was funny b/c my adviser was my physics teacher who is also the IB Coordinator. Soooo glad I didn’t fail b/c of it. In fact, I even got an extra point because of it! =D

Now…time to apply to college. Best of luck to all my fellow rising seniors! Second year of IB…get started on the EE’s!
