if i order a mac thru either cornell/apple site, how many days does it take...

for it to arrive? i'm not sure whether i should have it shipped to my house or the cornell campus.
any help'd be appreciated : )

I bought mine from the Apple Store and they gave it to me instantly. I don't know if that helps...

for sure it won't take a month. My mac was shipped almost across the continent and it took only 10 days.

took ~3 days for the ipod to arrive
~4 days for the printer
~5 days for the mac itself

thanx!
jaxtaposn: what kind of printer did u pick? i know for sure i'll take the ipod deal, but is is worth it to get a printer thru apple? i was thinking abt getting a laser jet thru amazon and have it shipped to my dorm... but would taking that $99 rebate be worthwhile if I plan on getting like a $300 photo printer from apple cuz that's the only one i actually liked and since it's quite light, would be easier to transport? (some laser jets from other comapnies i found only cost around $100)

under what circumstances would you transport your printer? I thought the whole point of buying one was so that you could keep it in your dorm.

unless you're a photography student, I don't see any reason to drop $300 on a photo printer. if you need to print a high-quality photograph for whatever reason, you can just take it to kinkos or something to have it developed. I ended up going with the "HP Photosmart C4280" because it was free with the rebate and printed documents quickly (like 30 ppm). It can print photographs as well.

I'm a big fan of laser printers, in general. But the all-in-one's are nice too, just becuase they can do everything (print color, copy, scan, etc). In general though, I've found that I don't use color very often, though I've had to borrow friends' all-in-ones to copy and scan on occasion.

o, transporting as in going to cornell, bringing it back home every years for 4 years along w/ those other necessasities.

i think i'll get a printer w/ apple. and if the printer really isn't too transportable, i'll just give it away as a nice gift and get myself a laser in college : )

thanx 4 everything.

there are portable printers available also....
