How much discount do you guys get anyway? Because I don't know if I should wait and save some money...

I think it's a better deal to get a student discount from the mac store. I did that and got a free ipod touch and printer. And the macbook was like 10% off. At the NYU store I don't think you get the free ipod and the discount is either the same or not as good. But that's only through september...who knows if it will be the same next year.

We also got D's apple thru the NYU computer store. Lower price than regular stores, and we did the deferment plan which to me is the best deal. You pay a small percentage upfront then the rest is put on your bursar bill to pay over 4 semesters interest free, this deferment includes all the computer supplies, accessories (sp?) and peripherals that you want. All NYU students can defer payment. It is on their website if you need info. We got the free ipod touch with the rebate and a free printer. IMO it is worth it.

I meant to add that the deferment amount i believe is up to 2000.00

I got mine last year at the computer store and I got 100 off and a free printer. Bring someone with you to take it to your dorm. It's impossible to carry alone.

Aw man that sounds so nice. I can't wait for next year, haha, if I get in. crosses fingers

The $100 off and free printer / free iPod touch isn't NYU exclusive, it's a student discount but technically you don't even have to be a student to get it if you purchase the macbook online.

I don't know if the printer deal is now alive but the iPod deal is still going on I think.

I live in New York so I went into the city and got my mac from NYU. They included the free ipod and the free printer. In addition...I needed art programs for Tisch, like photoshop...which were GREATLY discounted. They also have in-house techs there so if you're mac breaks you can give it to them. I'm not sure if they'll fix it if you didn't buy it from NYU.

What! How greatly discounted?! :D haha lol

There’s usually an ongoing discount for students with Apple. I’ve known some adults who used their teen to get a discount on their purchase to offset the premium price Apple puts on its products. If you’re a MAC or graphic person (and you should be on a MAC) there’s a great digital printing and graphic design shop in the Chelsea area, Influence Graphics. They offers some decent discounts too. Carnegie Hall, the Yankees and Mets have student discounts too.
By saving some money here and there it does add up to a nice slice of pizza or a free ride on the Metro - $2.50

…why did you post on a 6 year old post
