I was thinking about starting a Model U.N. club, or some sort of medical club. I think that the Model U.N. would be more appealing to the student body..but personally, I don't feel like they're very creative or very appealing...

So, the question is, if you could start up your own club what would it be?Any suggestions?

I would definately start an environmental club.

Focus on conservation efforts in school -- our school wastes sooo much.

EX) we have piles and piles of styrofoam trays in the trashcans- and the custodian told me she collects about 50 trashbags during the day (just her- there are so many more of them)
When I order something from lunch and I don't want something, say meat on my burrito, she gives it to me on the side even though I'm going to throw it away afterwards...

Plant trees, fruits, bushes-- I <3 nature. ((not so much the bugs... and the blazing heat)
There's about 350/365 sunny days here, so it wouldn't be so bad.
Fundraisers, events, flyers, turn off the lights, celebrate Earth Hour, Earth Day, etc...

A "chances" club. Where overachieving students from all grades can have their egos blown into astronomical proportions or utterly obliterated by other uninformed and overly anxious college bound overachievers!

tiger_max22: You should definitely start an Environmental Club at your school. It astounds me that some schools out there don't even have environmental clubs!

We have a model UN at our school, and quite honestly, not that many kids are into it. Along with me, I believe there are like 7-8 members? Anyway, before you do go along with it, make sure you ask people if they would be interested in joining.

Personally, I always wanted to fencing so I would start a fencing club/team. My friends and I actually talk about it once before, but none of us actually took the initiative to do anything about it. Plus I don't think many kids at my school would be interested because my school is just....well, you'd have to be here.

sqdwfe13- I don't think I have the motivation to keep it going-- I mean, I could start it- but it wouldn't go far because I'm busy with school & sports. I was looking for a teacher who would help "sponsor" it, but the teachers that would've been interested were already taken with other clubs.

My former school had MUN & we had loads of people join- our school wasn't even that big - MUN was a pain- I hate debates; & I think every school does MUN differently. We had one session per month on different topics and countries, which took like 5~6 hours. My other friend at another school kept the same country throughout each session.

I started an outdoor/conservation club. It just started meetings but it already has +50 members, which at my school is almost 1/10 of all students.

Once I started a club at my previous school, the members were tremendous the first few days, but after awhile, it dropped, and then a few would join; Some of them just weren't commited.

^We actually have a meeting next week to decide what we are going to do, it all depends on how much money we want to raise. White-water rafting is popular, but its expensive and there's liability issues. We might just go to a state park for a day instead. And as for conservation I'm going to set something up with the local watershed to do a clean up next month sometime, I have to talk to my advisor though.

The: I hate this High School club. Or I hate Idaho club.

In reality though, I want to make a club that is more relevant to our everyday lives. That incorporates diversity, conservation, politics and current events. Kids at my school are so disinterested in things that aren't in People magazine.

Now, I understand that this is normal for teenagers, but kids at my school are just so blatantly unaware of the world that is scares me. For example, the majority of kids at my school don't even know about the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
It is atrocious.

Are you serious? That's pretty sad tbh. Personally, I can't stand kids that are oblivious to what's going around the world.
