If you don't get your preferred term does it mean you weren't competitive enough?

For example, if I applied Fall but got Summer does this mean that my stats weren’t good enough compared to the other people who applied for Fall, or is it completely random?

In the past, it wasn’t random. The more competitive students (based on holistic factors, not just stats) were offered Fall. Keep in mind that many students also requested the summer term, so some of your strongest students could be starting in the summer.

If you follow this link and look at item #1 (Matrix), you can compare the average stats for students enrolled in the summer vs fall. You’ll notice that there is a very slight difference in stats between UF’s summer and fall enrolled students. For the other 11 state universities, the difference is much more pronounced.
