Ok, so here's the problem. I'm doing ED to UPenn, and I just received my October SAT II scores. They are:
Lit 690
Math Level II 670

A painful math subject test score and a mediocre lit, to say the least. November 6 is the day of my SAT Reasoning, which would have to be used with these two. So, which would you guys recommend sending ED? (Note: I know that I'm NOWHERE near UPenn's average range now, but I'm praying for a miracle or something. Very strong ECs/work experience, excellent recs, [apparently] excellent essay.)

ACT: 31 (bleh)
SAT + SAT IIs: ? (hopefully 2200+), 690 + 670

Thanks guys, I'm semi-freaking out here lol.

I would suggest that you take either or both of Math/Lit again. Remember, you can take more Subject Tests on testing day than originally registered for.

I would, but I’ve already signed up for the SAT Reasoning on Nov. 6th, and I need to retake that (2060). Past that, it’s way too late for anything to be submitted as part of ED.

What would you consider to be a “good/great” Literature/Math score?

Probably 710+ on Lit and 750+ on Math. I’d say that’s around the lower average of UPenn as well, no?

I didn’t know there was actually an average, but I would say that 700 is pretty good and 690 is close enough so that it wouldn’t make a big a difference as retaking the SAT I’s and getting a better score on that.

I’m not an expert though, so I can’t say for sure, but thats my two cents.

(I’m applying ED too, but I’m retaking abysmal SAT I’s in November (2070) and hoping my subject tests will make up for them in the meantime)

I suppose. I might just submit my ACTs in lieu of my SAT/SAT IIs, but then submit my SAT along with it. Thanks for the input though; good luck with UPenn! (To both of us :D.)
