I have a big problem I’m not sure what to major in . I’m a junior in highscool and my ACT prep teacher want’s us to tell him what college I want to attend to im not sure what to major in either . I have a love for music and technology so im not sure what to major into i thought about becoming a producer who makes music. * I know it’s not a good thing to major into * I’ve been told that it will flop after college so I’m not sure what I really want to do .

Please Help ?

English.

If you like music and technology, have you considered working with something like audio? People seem to really enjoy that field and it tends to pay pretty well depending on what you do. Audio engineers seem to make some serious $$$ and love their jobs.
One of my teachers got into film production, radio, and TV and he said he loves it.

Your first task is to improve your HS performance (cf. your other post about your poor GPA). As for “choosing a major” – it’s only an exercise and doesn’t force you into any field. Your test prep teacher simply wants to help guide you. The fact you have nothing to reply isn’t disastrous in the slightest.

Stop worrying about choosing a college or major. This is about #50 on your list of priorities. There’s nothing more important right now than to get on the right direction in your classes this semester and next.

If this test prep teacher insists, tell him/her: “Currently my GPA is X.XX. I hope to raise that significantly this semester and following. You’ll understand if my not having destination colleges is not one of my greatest concerns right now.” He or she will shut up.

You don’t need to decide now. I’ve heard admission counselors say that about half of students apply undecided. My D didn’t figure out what she wanted to do until about junior year of college. If you make a decision before you are ready you may find you box yourself into a corner. Unless you are considering any special programs such as engineering, business, nursing etc. then you can wait.

The sole focus of your ACT tutor should be to improve your ACT score.
