Two weeks seems fineā¦ and if the coworkers that may need prep get a heads up earlier, thatās thoughtful too.
I gave two monthsā notice at my last professional position, but it was a small company and I had all the historical memory as to how everything was done. A week after I gave notice, the owner fired the operations manager for a racist attack on a coworker, so I was the de facto manager during the rest of my tenure.
Decided not to stay and take that role instead.
After several years I went to work PT at my synagogue, but left after a couple years. I just started volunteering there again, one day a week for a couple hours. This time around, no politics and I just do what Iām told. Itās good to see friends, too.
Thereās going to be a kosher Meals on Wheels starting in our area. May do that, too.
Have been running a volunteer quilting group for seven years and we make quilts for a local womenās shelter.
If I can get my ortho issues stabilized, Iād go work at the local quilt shop. The flexibility to travel when we want is so nice, though! (H is still working, but has good vacation benefits.)
I havenāt worked for pay in almost five years, but I
canāt describe myself as retired. Iām too busy!
