Important: Why Things Missing on Self-Service

my school report and transcript plus another rec were checked off after the statement " ur app has been forwarded " appeared on my self-service account...

Does that mean that they have to bring these newly checked documents to the college...?? I am afraid that they will get lost on the way to college.......=.=/////

My recommendations are still missing on the self-service system and I don't see the "ur app has been forwarded" messsage. Do all of you see this message? S.o. posted that we have to send the missing materials to specific colleges since they are all processed. Are you sure? By the way I was thinking of asking the school to fax the missing recs, to which number I'm not sure. Do you think this would be a problem?

"my school report and transcript plus another rec were checked off after the statement " ur app has been forwarded " appeared on my self-service account..."

what number do you call to see if your stuff is in?

rachel212: when I had this situation I called the undergraduate admissions office at (607) 255-5241. It was busy all the time and I made several attempts and finally got through. I was then transferred to talk to someone in the processing dept - I do not know the direct number to this dept.

thank you :-D

I called the admissions office today and they forwarded me to the processing center. What I heard from the lady was that not all the application materials, especially rec's, weren't put into applicants' files yet. She told me to check back every day this week. I wonder how could it take this much time.

A question: How do you know that your application was forwarded to a college? Does it appear on the self-service system?

maestro: The self service system says the following (at the bottom of the screen):
Your application has been forwarded to the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning admissions office for review.

This should not be construed as an indication that your application is complete. Please refer to the requirements for your college to ensure you have sent all the required materials to us.

I do not know if this appears for everyone or not.

panantha1: That's what appears for mine, except it's ILR. And I'm still missing one of my recommendations.

sheesh, i'd be pretty freaked out if my stuff didnt get in by now. good luck you guys ;)

tun: If you applied ED then I would recommend that you call undergrad admissions and check why this is still showing incomplete. Or fax another copy - just to be safe.

I called the admissions office and they told I have to check back until Fri. If it's not there by Thu, my school's college counselling office will fax the recs. Good luck to you all.

wow dude seriously go to sleep... lol

do they check off recs for supp recs, or just for the teacher recs?

Mine is complete, but not forwarded yet...
By the way they don't check the supp recs; they put them into your file.

panantha1 - I called them a week ago and they simply told me to have my teachers resend them. One of them sent them again yesterday and the other sent it today. Hopefully it gets there in time.

you can fax recs? I'm still missing one. Can i call and ask which rec is in? Or should I just fax in both?

rachel212: You certainly can fax. I called and requested the teachers to fax the recs to Cornell. You will need to send it to the college you are applying to.

Kind of off-topic, but an admissions rep says ED apps increased by about 250 this year...this is from the admissions chat (that I entered because I was bored...).

I wouldn't be surprised it's becoming much more common to apply early. In my school in particular almost everyone is applying early it's crazy and past years that wasn't the case. Hopefully they will just take more students this year too then. -_-

Finally, as of today, Cornell has all my son's paperwork.
