i have been nominated for this, and i was wondering if it will help me. This question is really for AdmissionsDaniel :). Please answer. (i want to go into the BMe field or the medical field).

lol, why is this "IMPORTANT" if you are only a sophomore..

I heard that was a joke.

you could atleast post an answer and stop acting like an idiot just because of my young age

Okay, fine. Yes, sure it will help you, if you'd like to think so. But not much. There are many geniuses at JHU already anyway. Plus, it's just a nomination? Maybe participate in it or something.

Recognitions such as Who's Who or Honor Roll and nominations to programs like National Youth and Presidential Classroom are not considered as valuable information in the admissions review process at Johns Hopkins. Thousands of applicants receive such recognitions each year, and since there is no way to judge the academic or non-academic value in the issuing of these recognitions, these factors are just not given any weight.

The exception is when an applicant does attend one of the programs like a National Youth Forum. This is considered an academic enrichment experience and is something our Admissions committee looks for in our successful applicants. However, preference is not provided to one program over another but rather academic enrichment experiences overall are recommended when possible.

Remember there are many, many options out there for academic enrichment. Speak with your teachers and guidance counselors, as well as do an online search. You'll find many options for programs during the school year and even more during summer breaks. Find a program that you are interested in and that you will enjoy — don't choose a program because you think it will look good on a college application.
