So I have taken the ACT 3 times with limited to zero prep each time
scored the following - 28, 28, 30

If i did a significant amount of prep how much could I expect to improve? I guess it is worth noting I am by far the weakest in the science section (yet to break 25).

i took an ACT prep class offered by my school...and i managed to raise my score a whopping 1 pt. However, I know that it helped a lot of people I know A LOT. My friend got a 27 at the beginning of the class. At the end, he got a 32 and ended up with a 35 after two more attempts. His reading and science scores rose from below 25 to the mid-30s. So, yes, prep work does help (some people).

It kinda ironic that I scored significantly better than him when I took the test w/o practice, but in the end he still got a better score...o well.

If you've done intensive prepping, I'd say you can raise it up to a 32-34. Focus especially on your weaker areas, and if you feel that you already have good test-taking strategies under your belt, just take practise tests again and again. Despite what you may think, this repitition can really boost your score!
