CC has traded readability and useability for a larger page count to help their advertising.

I don’t like how default for clicking on a link within a post takes you to the new link rather than opening a new tab/window for the link. I’ll adjust, but this seems like a step backwards.

The light blue silhouette of what I presume is a bunch of eager energized students at the bottom of the page is really cheesy.

Need to go RTFM to see more about the changes…that is, if I can FIND the FM. And not bothering to put an eye-rolling smiley because I despise animated smileys.

On the alphabetical list of Colleges is where I noticed this, but it probably applies everywhere: please return the date and time on the last poster’s post. Under my son’s college, I would occasionally click on the college name and I could easily see when the most recent post was. And I could then determine whether or not there was something new I needed to read. Please replace that, as it was in the old site. I do not subscribe to threads; I’ve got enough emails coming in, I don’t need a million other ones. But I would like to be able to easily tell when the last post was in a particular thread or forum that I visit regularly.

On my browser, it used to look the same when accessed through ipad or iphone.
Now on iphone, it is not even good for reading, as you cannot easily find new posts with wading through hundreds of pages of old ones.

Long time CCer here. Please bring back the last post feature as cgpm59 in the above post describes. For me new look = less time on Cc.

As a somewhat older person, I cannot use this new site. The lighter color of the site hurts my eyes and makes the print hard to read, and the typeface is too small, especially the usernames to the left of the post. The logo above the user name is visually distracting. I do have some neurological sensitivities but anyone over a certain age will have trouble with this I think. Is there any way to at least make the typeface black instead of light blue? I cannot seem to find a way to contact a moderator. Thanks!

Something weird is happening. Everytime I log on, there is another last poster listed…but I have not seen their posts. Also what happened to Compmom’s thread about the new forum?

Found it…the two threads were merged. Still…I’m not seeing some posts.

How do you report a problem post now?

Hate, hate, hate the new format. As many others have said, the upside for me is that I will spend less time
on CC.

And look at that, there’s already a clever spammer at work advertising fake IDs on the parents forum, and no way to report them or the problem post. Let’s see how long it takes others to discover the vulnerability and totally overrun the forum. Ugh.

…Oh, now I see, use the “Flag” under the post itself.

Now I can complain about the use of red text to note that a post has been edited. Maybe useful to see if it’s been edited since you first saw the post, otherwise useless and distracting.

Next complaint: no auto logout. Some folks may want to stay logged on all the time. Others (like me) want the session to expire. I’m guessing that as it’s not even offered as an option that you or the host wants to scrape data about other sites users visit. Like with Facebook, I’ll just make sure to sign off.

Don’t you just click on the flag icon underneath the problem post?

Is the flag working today? It was NOT late yesterday. When you tried to submit, you were told you didn’t have permission to do so.

@thumper1 I just read somewhere else that the flag issue is now fixed.

It’s fixed. I just tried it on thumper’s post! :P

Thanks Niqill. I’ll return the favor someday.

Yes, the little flag to report posts is now working.

I didn’t really report you! I just clicked the flag and it opened the box…

Don’t have a vendetta against me. :((

As an FYI, the little box always opened. One could type the report. But when you tried to submit, it said you didn’t have permission. That’s all fixed now…it goes through just fine.

I just realized there’s no way to delete posts…

I am accustomed to entering the site at what is now called “Latest Posts.” In the revised site, I now how to scroll through a bunch of pinned topics before arriving at what are really the latest posts. Yes, the pinned posts are recent, but many of them are days old. I find this very annoying. I see the advantage to putting pinned threads at the top of their respective forums, but putting them at the top of “Latest Posts” is annoying. If there is a setting I can change for myself, would someone please tell me? If not, I ask that this “feature” be switched off.

Weren’t pinned posts always at the top, though?
