So I made the mistake of telling the counselor at my home high school the I needed her to fill out an evaluation the week before winter break.

I've already sent in the Common App and supplements for the two schools I'm applying to two weeks before the deadline, and all other supporting documents are complete and sent. If I were to wait until classes started back up at my high school, it would have to be on the 7th, but both application deadlines are on the 1st of January.

Really, all I'm asking is how lenient are schools with supporting documents? Is a week after the deadline too long? Please help!

I’m really confused on what you are asking. Did your counselor send it already or not?

Sorry. No she didn’t send it.

Depends on individual schools. Many schools are lenient about supporting documents but counselor evaluation is kinda the main thing. I sent some of my documents a week past the EA deadline but I still got accepted to those schools.

Okay, so how lenient do you think Syracuse would be? Or NYU? Because I’ve heard they’ve been lenient before, also people were saying they were turning transcripts & recommendations in on the 3rd & 4th.

I have no basis for Syracuse, have no interaction with it. But NYU is pretty lax according to my friend.

Okay thanks. I think I’ll just call Syracuse after their winter break & see what they say.
