Ind. Design or Pre-Med?

Hi,

I've been debating whether or not I should go into industrial design or pre-med. I know I can major in industrial design while doing a pre-med track, but design is time consuming and I feel that I should choose one or the other so I can be an expert at one thing.

Firstly, is there anything I should know about going into pre-med/med school or any advice that you can offer? I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've always been a very empathetic guy. I volunteer at the hospital weekly and I love doing it.

I'm also an artist who has won a few awards through Scholastics and whatnot.

Would empathy and passion alone be enough to fuel me through the pre-med/med school process? I don't believe I've ever been too good at biology or physics, although I was one of the best in my Chemistry class. I never took the sciences as seriously as I should have in high school because I originally planned on attending an art school.

Thank you!

-Not enough for anything, not for med., not for design. You will have to work extremely hard in both. Rely only on your hard working ethic and absolutely nothing else. Do not have to be an expert, but science will be involved in both. I am a parent of Medical student and a Graphic Designer who was in the same college with Industrial Designers. Both are very time consuming, require huge commitments and very hard work.
