Is there anybody on this board who has successfully transferred into the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, or knows somebody that has? I'd love the opportunity to discuss how you went through the process and how to position myself to be accepted for next year.

Almost half the school is made of transfers, so yes i know quite a few. A lot of them were given the GT option, and a lot of them were not. If you don’t have GT, just follow the regular transfer process like you would any other school.

Awesome, thanks for the insight! I’m not a GT, so would you say that there are any strong undercurrent trends with the students that are accepted from non-GT schools? All indications to me so far have shown 1.) A strong GPA 2.) Good recommendations 3.) Great, related EC’s 4.) Strong essays/reason for transferring and 5.) A solid HS background.

Would you say that about covers it? In what order do you think the above are important?

I’d prefer to transfer as quickly as possible (probably after one year at my current school) so what kinds of things specifically can I do to bolster my chances in the relatively short time I have? I’m afraid that my HS stats (3.64, 2200, 31) don’t really give me a strong case for admission on their own.

I am an incoming transfer student in ILR. I will be starting my sophomore year in the fall ( I did not have a GT). Honestly, number one thing for ILR is fit. ILR is not based on mere statistical figures. For me, it was my passion for microfinancing and non-profit management. Also, make sure to take the recommended ILR classes (Micro and Macro and etc.)
