International business at University of Washington?

I want to major in international business and university of washington has a top 10 international business program and is ranked 33rd by business week. I was comparing it to ohio state which is ranked 59th and here are some of the comparisons.

WASHINGTON

Percent of 2009 graduates who provided employment information: 40 %

Job offer results, 2009 graduates:

Received first job offer by graduation: 53 %
Received first job offer in three months following graduation: 2 %
Received first job offer more than 3 months after graduation: 5 %
Did not report having received a job offer: 47 %

Companies posting full-time job offers on school job boards, previous academic year: 2,134

OHIO STATE

Percent of 2009 graduates who provided employment information: 48 %

Job offer results, 2009 graduates:

Received first job offer by graduation: 79 %
Received first job offer in three months following graduation: 15 %
Received first job offer more than 3 months after graduation: 6 %

Companies posting full-time job offers on school job boards, previous academic year: 709

Of the people who submitted employment info almost half of the graduates didnt get a job offer at U of W that sounds pretty bad to me, 100% of the ones did at OSU. So should I go to OSU instead even though its not ranked as high overall or in international business?

Don’t confuse “did not report” with “didn’t receive”. It just means UW really doesn’t follow up as well as OSU with finding out if their recent grads have job offers. Either that or OSU eliminated the “non-response” from their statistics.

Seattle is doing much better (unemployment wise) than any part of Ohio, so I would think UW grads would have better success finding jobs. The recession has really hurt Ohio.

UW> OSU (unless you like football)
