I have a quick question. I am an international student and I am trying to transfer since the cost of my school is a little to much. Is there any college that will provide me merit-based transfer scholarship. I have a 3.91/4 GPA after 46 credits, and I’m taking other 17 credits this semester. I am an computer engineering major.
The total cost for tuition, fee, room and board that I can afford is 20/25k a year.
There is very little merit money available for transfer students. However, if you look hard, you may find a more affordable college or university. Run the college-matching search engines, and look for places that offer your major and where the tuition and fees are no more than $15,000. Then check the cost of meals and housing at the websites of the places that come up to see if any will be within your budget.
I believe that both university of Alabama and University of Minnesota offer scholarships to international transfers but I don’t know if the cost would work for you.
Missouri school of engineering, South Dakota school of mines, perhaps.
If you have relatives in NYC who could just you, then one of the Cuny colleges may work (16ktuition but double that if you don’t have housing).
^the presidential scholarships, yes, but it DOES award scholarships to international transfers too. The amounts aren’t the same, they aren’t automatic, etc., but it’s one of the few that awards anything to international transfers.
