International - UChicago EA

Hey hey,

It's pretty silly that I'm asking for chances for an already-submitted application. Please recommend some match/safety schools for the RD round, mayhaps? (I have a feeling some friends of mine will be lurking and recognize the stats etc., so hey hi hello there.)

You have a nice shot at Uchicago. Great Testing scores and other ECs.

Chance me?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1575443-chance-me-my-ed-ea-hyp-mit-please-will-chance-back.html

UChicago is unpredictable and their essays (supplements) are crucial.
The fact your supplements are “average” by your estimation isn’t too encouraging. Your honors are good for this level of competition but not extraordinary (they don’t push you over the others but aren’t shabby!)
As an international, your odds are 1:20 but you might have a 1:10 chance due to your profile.
What are your matches and safeties?

It is at best a high match. Good luck! Please get me back.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

I’m applying to Berkeley, NYU, Williams, and Tufts in the RD round, among others. I’d say that UofToronto and Waterloo are my safeties at the moment, since they’re ridiculously ‘easy’ for in-province students for the majors I’m looking at.

Fingers crossed till mid December.

I agree with MYOS16314 about the importance of the essays for UChicago.
