<p>Hi!!
Im having an issue with an interviewer.
I applied to this Ivy.
About two months ago, I got an email from "an interviewer", Im an international, this guy was from another country, he thought I was from his country as well and asked me to meet up. I replied of course with "Im not from your country" but thanks and that I would try to clarify my location with the college.
Next day he writes telling me he will let the college know.
Next day, another email telling me, the college asked him to go on with the interview anyway. So I replied excited and suggested skype, I told him my available times and all that and even suggested a cyber meeting in two days.
No replies.....15 days later, he emails me again " I am supposed to interview you, give me your phone number and times" I replied AGAIN, with my phone number, times and again, suggesting skype...No answer!
About a month after he emails me again with " When can we have a phone conversation?, please call me and his phone number"</p>
<p>What am I supposed to do? first of all I can´t afford a 60 minute international call!!
Second of all! what is wrong with him?! I know they volunteer and all that but they should be serious about it. I feel like he is tottaly fooling me and doesnt want to do the interview. </p>
<p>His replies are rude and take for ever! Now what?!</p>
<p>I assume this interview will have an impact on my application, since decisions are around the corner, there must be a reason why they are asking for the interview.</p>
<p>What do I do now??!! Any suggestions?</p>
<p>E-mail him with your availability and concern about the phone call price…?</p>
<p>Email the college too. They may have another interviewer available.</p>
<p>thanks pancaked and happymomof1</p>
<p>I sent him an email saying I couldnt call him that is why I suggested skype. He replied ok, then give me your phone number AGAIN, I did and told him I would get home in about an hour, if that is ok.
He replied with, ok I ll call you tomorrow at x…
Seriously, what is wrong?! I sent him TWO emails (besides the other emails) with my available times, Im busy till afternoon. Im mostly free on weekends, I sent him an email like a month ago suggesting a weekend call and still!
Whats wrong? Im affraid this will hurt my chances. How should I adress this? should I call the school? or the regional counselor? Ive emailed the regional counselor before and met her some time ago. should I email her or the admissions office? what would be a proper way to adress this issue? I dont want to sound like telling on him or something like that, just that I want an interview and an interviewer WILLING (sp) to do it.
Am I wrong here? Unfortunately I can’t answer an hour call on my “unavailable times”.</p>
<p>Dear Regional Counselor,</p>
<p>Mr. John Smith and I have tried to schedule an admissions interview several times, but we have not been successful at coordinating our schedules. Is there another alumni interviewer who would be able to do this? I am happy to have a phone interview or be interviewed by Skype if we can’t meet in person.</p>
<p>Sincerely,</p>

<p>I can think of many reasons why this interview hasn’t been able to take place yet. It isn’t your fault, and it isn’t the interviewers fault. Your schedules, and possibly your access to technology, are just too different. Both of you seem to be making a good-faith attempt to set up the interview. As long as the admissions officer knows that you have tried your best, things will be fine.</p>
<p>If they assign you an interviewer from a different country, that’s a pretty sure sign that there aren’t many interviews available in that area.
But email the college. Explain the problems you’ve been having, and they’ll find a way to cope with it.</p>
