i have not been contacted for an interview and since the deadline is approaching, I was just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation. I live in Northern VA, so I'm sure there are a lot of kids applying to Yale from my area. As long as the lack of an interview doesn't hurt my chances of acceptance I'm not too worried, but I was wondering if anyone in the DC area had been contacted and how do they choose who to interview?

Please see other threads regarding Yale interviews; I can only type the same info so many times (not meant to be snarky, just factual). In my area, interviews are given on a first come, first served basis. I can't say how they are done in other areas, but my impression is that there is no selection of who gets an interview beyond the restraints imposed by a volunteer alumni interviewer force and geographic issues. The local volunteer who coordinates the interviews, the Alumni Schools Commitee director, does not get personal info beyond address, high school, etc. on candidates, so there is no choosing based on who has a better application.
