Is Anyone Going to Watch the ABC Show "The Scholar"?

He's risking so much more for himself when he blamed himself for the loss. He wouldn't have risked anything if he blamed someone else. I really don't see how that's weak. Whatever. O_O

Jeremy placing the blame on himself was either weakness or fear. Weakness to be bold and say who was truly the team member who contributed to the team's defeat, or fear that if he was honest he would be disliked. I thought it was a pretty dumb move for Jeremy to place himself on the chopping block, but I have to wonder if it was better he did that because the committee actually liked it. The committee thought it was a sign of maturity when he put the blame on himself.

I totally agree that Jeremy's story of his parents being immigrants was the typical 'feel bad for me and give me an opportunity' play off. Sure, my heart goes out to him, I want him to go places in his life and make his family proud because they have sacrificed much for him, but you can find his same story with many other people. From what I have seen, he is great, but he's not all that special.

Special is like a girl, Liz Murray who had two drug-addicted parents and a schiziphrenic, legally blind mother who died when she was 15. A girl who was homeless and with only a 6th grade education at age 16. Returned to school, completed 4 years of high school in 2 years while living in a NYC subway and attended Harvard University on a full scholarship. THAT is what you call special. A person who has resurrected.

Although I could be wrong, Jeremy hasn't had to rise from anything too extreme from what I have seen. Plus, I think he needs to get a backbone. I'm getting a sense that he is a little too timid. However, anything is better than that cocky boy on the show ( I cannot remember his name).
